# Q4 2026

Release notes for October to December 2026.

{% updates format="full" %}
{% update date="2026-10-09" %}

##

**Add**

* Add a management link on Apple Wallet pass templates, pointing end-users to the page where they manage the ticket the pass represents
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-10-08" %}

##

**New**

* New MCP tools to create, update and delete passes, pass templates, themes and automations, each with a preview and a confirmation step before anything changes
* New MCP tool listing every automation type with its settings, so an AI assistant can write an automation from scratch
* New number and date formats on Apple Wallet pass fields: number style, currency, date and time style, relative dates and venue time
* New "place" featured action on Apple Wallet passes, opening an Apple Maps place instead of a web link
* New live message on Apple Wallet event tickets, shown during the event

**Improve**

* Improve migrations from another wallet provider: a pass installed on a device but unknown to the platform is now created automatically, so end-users keep receiving updates
* Improve template save errors, which now explain what was refused instead of "Save operation failed"
* Improve the pass template editor: change message, notification and display period are grouped under "Advanced settings"

**Fix**

* Fix pass template change events not always being sent when a pass moved to another template
* Fix the configuration history failing when a change was made by a user who no longer exists
* Fix customer wallet pages that could fail to load right after a platform update
* Fix Google Wallet notifications sent again for translated messages that had not changed
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-10-07" %}

##

**New**

* New automation trigger "A pass value changes": run an automation when a chosen pass value changes, immediately or after a delay, with a single update sent to the device

**Improve**

* Improve stamp cards on Apple Wallet, now displayed like loyalty cards, with a preview that follows the number of stamps collected
* Improve the automation editor: rarely used actions, such as changing the pass template, are grouped under "Advanced actions"

**Fix**

* Fix automation conditions on true/false values, where "false" could be treated as true
* Fix expired automations being listed under the "Active" filter
* Fix Apple Wallet passes falling back to the default language when a translated message contained quotation marks
* Fix benefits shown in reverse order on Google Wallet passes
* Fix date filters on the passes list, which now use the browser time zone, and pass dates shown with their own time zone
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-10-06" %}

##

**Improve**

* Improve the API reference: error responses, permission errors, size limits and rate limits are documented on every endpoint
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-10-05" %}

##

**New**

* New Google Wallet preview, matching what end-users see on their phone: pass front and details, home screen, passes list and add page, in light and dark mode
* New Google Wallet layout editor, to choose which fields appear in each zone of the pass
* New rotating barcode on Google Wallet passes, refreshed every few seconds to prevent screenshots from being reused
* New Google Wallet options for pass grouping, image module, and screenshot and NFC restrictions

**Improve**

* Improve help texts on every Google Wallet template field, stating its effect on the pass
* Improve pausing and resuming automations: passes already served are not processed again
* Improve readability and consistency of the back office in light and dark mode

**Fix**

* Fix Google Wallet issues found by testing every template option on a device, including number formats, missing translations and event dates
* Fix the start date of Google Wallet passes not being previewed as Google Wallet shows it
* Fix the basic configuration page that could remove every language but English on save
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-10-02" %}

##

**New**

* New "Automation executed" event in analytics, recorded for each automation run
* New image optimisation of a whole folder in the advanced configuration editor, running in the background with progress

**Improve**

* Improve automation execution history, now paginated per automation
* Improve automation validation: an automation referring to a pass template or theme that does not exist is refused, with a message naming the field
* Improve API error messages, now returned in one standard format for every error
* Improve script editor autocompletion for the functions the platform provides
* Improve keyboard and screen-reader support across the back office
* Improve analytics events, which now all carry a correlation identifier

**Fix**

* Fix Google Wallet credentials saved from the back office being refused
* Fix uninstalled Google Wallet passes being counted as installed in filters, exports and automations
* Fix the passes list being loaded twice on every page view
* Fix pass update events not being recorded when the update could not be delivered to the device
  {% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-10-01" %}

**Improve**

* Improve language switching: dates, tables and pagination follow the language chosen in the back office
* Improve Arabic display of names, identifiers and dates
* Improve wording and spelling across the back office
* Improve theme and pass template saving, which no longer re-uploads unchanged images
* Improve favicon and site settings, saved in a single step

  {% endupdates %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.thewalletcrew.io/changelog/release-note/2026/q4-2026.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
